Pristine Competitions is committed to operating our prize draws fairly, transparently and responsibly.
We are a signatory to the DCMS Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators, which establishes standards for player protection, transparency and accountability within the prize draw sector.
This page summarises some of the measures we have in place to support those commitments.
Participation in our prize draws is restricted to customers aged 18 or over. Customers are required to provide their date of birth when registering, and identity and age verification is undertaken as part of the prize claim process for prizes other than site credit.
Our advertising and marketing is intended for adult audiences and is not targeted towards children or young persons.
We want participation in our competitions to remain enjoyable and within our customers’ means.
Customers have access to responsible play controls that allow them to set an individual monthly spending limit, including a limit of £0. Once a spending limit has been established, our platform prevents purchases that would cause that limit to be exceeded.
We also provide information about responsible participation and sources of independent support for customers who may be experiencing financial or other difficulties.
Customers can use our responsible play controls to suspend their account from further participation.
We also provide options for longer-term or permanent account restrictions, and customers can contact our support team if they wish to close their account permanently.
Customers subject to an applicable account suspension are prevented from participating in prize draws during the suspension period.
Our team can review relevant account, transaction, spending and responsible play information where a concern about a customer’s participation is identified or brought to our attention.
Where appropriate, we can take proportionate action including contacting the customer, restricting an account, suspending further participation or permanently blocking an account.
We continue to develop our responsible play systems and processes to improve our ability to identify and respond appropriately to potential indicators of harm.
We aim to provide customers with clear information about how our competitions operate.
Competition pages display relevant information about the prize, entry requirements, available tickets or entries, draw arrangements and, where applicable, cash alternatives.
Winners are selected using random number generation processes appropriate to the type of draw.
For live draws, random number generation is conducted as part of the live draw process. Automated draws use our platform’s dedicated random number generation process, with the result and associated competition information recorded by the platform.
Paid and valid free entries participate in the same applicable draw and have an equal opportunity of winning.
Where a competition has a maximum number of available entries, this is clearly displayed on the competition page.
This allows customers to understand the maximum possible entry pool before choosing whether to participate.
We provide a free postal entry route for applicable prize draws.
Details of the free entry route and instructions for submitting a valid entry are made available before purchase. Valid free entries received in accordance with the applicable terms are entered into the same draw as paid entries and have an equivalent opportunity to win.
Full details of the applicable free entry process can be found in our competition terms.
We award advertised prizes irrespective of the number of paid entries received.
We do not reduce the value of an advertised prize, cancel a draw or extend its closing date because an insufficient number of tickets have been sold.
Where a cash alternative is available for a prize, this is displayed on the relevant competition page before entry.
Our marketing and advertising is undertaken in accordance with applicable advertising standards, including the CAP and BCAP Codes where relevant.
Our advertising is intended for adults and should not portray participation in prize draws as a solution to financial difficulties, an alternative to employment or a means of achieving financial security.
Customers can raise a complaint through our complaints process.
Complaints are initially reviewed by our customer support team and, where necessary, can be escalated to senior management and ultimately the company’s directors for further review and resolution.
We aim to investigate complaints fairly and provide customers with a clear outcome.
From time to time, we may operate specific competitions or promotions in support of a named charity.
Where charitable fundraising forms part of a promotion, we will clearly communicate the charity being supported and the nature of the contribution to customers.
Responsibility for oversight of our compliance with the DCMS Voluntary Code has been assigned to a senior member of our management team.
We periodically review our systems, policies and operating practices against the Code. Where opportunities for improvement or deficiencies are identified, we aim to address these through appropriate technical, operational or policy changes.
We are committed to constructive engagement with DCMS and the wider prize draw sector to support high standards of player protection, transparency and accountability.
More information about responsible participation, account controls, free entry and the operation of individual competitions can be found within our Responsible Play information, Terms and Conditions and individual competition pages.
